Ok, so I read this, written a response, and erased it many times because I just can’t seem to express what I feel here. But here it goes….your mother is using her religion to punish and abuse you. I know that is a harsh statement, but I just don’t see it any other way. I’m sorry you are exposed to this and I hope that someday that will change and you are able to have a peaceful and loving relationship….until then….good luck. Oh, and I agree with my wife’s statement!

Timing is everything. I sat on a refinance decision “waiting for interest rates to drop further” before finally giving up and taking what now looks like a good rate.

Good analysis. You can’t always depend on others. In the end the winners will be those with strong personal values that they actually live by. We all waver from time to time, but what’s at the core? I’m not preaching what those values should be. But I am preaching that we all need to know what rock we stand on and stand on it. Yours are yours and mine are mine, but in the end values still matter.
